Bug Description

I've attempted to install Maverick and the Daily Natty build (downloaded last night) on a late 2010 Macbook Air 13". When I boot Ubuntu from the CD, the video driver is not properly initialized and the screen is barely readable. I hope this can be resolved for a subsequent release.

You must run live cd with option "nomodeset" to bypass this problem. Try to follow the user guide at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/MacBookAir3-2/Meerkat

Jason R. Coombs, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. Natty reached EOL on October 2012.
Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

We were wondering if this is still an issue in a supported release? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ .

If it remains an issue, if possible, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p linux <replace-with-bug-number>

Please let us know your results. Thank you for your understanding.

I no longer have the hardware, so I'm unable to perform further testing. I have confidence the Macbook Air recipes would have worked. I don't see that I can close this ticket. Please close it for me as resolved or won't fix.
