Said my menu.lst file was changed but I know I've never touched it.
It asked what I wanted to do so I told it to use package maintainers version but have not yet rebooted as I'm heading out to work and do not have time to try restoring if it fails.

rebooted after looking at the menu.lst and verifying all files are located where it is looking for them.
However on reboot getting Error 15: File not found for All kernels.

resolved by going into live cd and using mdadm to reassemble my boot raid 1 volume, mounting it, changing the menu.lst to old_menu.lst and renaming menu.lst~ to menu.lst, after rebooting back up found the menu.lst that was not working had changed all my file locations to /boot from just /
Not sure why the upgrade script renamed all the file locations in the menu.lst file but for me it's resolved.
