crashes when loading

When attempting to boot Ubuntu 10.10 Alpha 3, it just randomly crashes before it can ever get to the desktop. Using a Pentium 4 processor, PC was bought in '06.

Just to be sure, you mean 11.04 alpha 3?

Have you tried using the natty alternate install disc?

Yes I mean 11.04 Alpha 3. Never needed to use the alternate install disc before.

The problem is you're bug report lacks a lot of information, specifically there's nothing anyone can do anything about the issue because we have no idea about your hardware, software or what's going wrong. You could be installing windows, we don't know at this point.

If you try and install using the alternate install image and then report back if it succeeds or fails, then we go further.

Can you install ubuntu 11.04 using the alternative install?

The alternate disc worked without a hitch. With the normal disc, I couldn't get far enough to even attempt to install since it would always crash when loading.
