Compiz crashed on fresh natty install on sony vaio vpcz1 series, crashed when I tried alt-tab to switch application windows.

I get bit by this a lot, too. It seems to happen on ALT+TAB (default switcher), SUPER+TAB (compiz ring switcher) and sometime just trying to bring up the Unity sidebar with a mouse click on the Ubuntu symbol.

A workaround is:

1. When the screen freeze and you can't do anything (just move your mouse)
2. Hit CTRL+ALT+F2
3. $ pkill compiz
3. Hit CTRL+ALT+F7
4. Wait compiz reload :)

This is actually a good tip for a work around. Haven't tested it myself, but if this is what you used and it works, post it to bug 741942.
