thank you for your bug report bug the error suggest that you are mixing GNOME2 and GNOME3 code which is not supported, it's not an Ubuntu issue since GNOME3 is not part of the distribution yet

true! I tried the gnome3-team ppa and the purge operation was not complete at the time. I cleaned up everything now so i hope future bug reports will be appropriate. thx anyway
