can't pin tomboy notes any more

Binary package hint: tomboy

in previous ubuntu version there was a pin icon by each note in the drop down menu. clicking it would pin that note into the menu. this has gone in natty. i guess something to do with it not being the gnome applet, but a cut down indicator applet instead.

Yup, this is a bug with ubuntu's appindicator patch. Last time I checked the appindicator infrastructure did not have support for pinned items.

Feel free to switch to the packages in the Tomboy PPA if you need this feature.

Also, there is probably already a bug reported for this, you might want to search around.

Is it the same problem (ie Ubuntu Appindicator limitation) which makes impossible to see more than 10 notes in the Tomboy menu ?

Because on Ubuntu Maverick, if I edit in gconf-editor the item /apps/tomboy/menu_note_count and set it for example to 20, I can see the 20 last modified notes in the menu of Tomboy.

Here in Natty, no more. So is it another option to change (because gconf is perhaps only related to gnome panel), is it impossible ?

Also, on Natty all the menus are shown on left click on Tomboy indicator, ie notes but Preferences, Help, About, Quit, Synchronization, too, instead of right click in Maverick, here left and right click open the same menu.

I ask here because it's perhaps the same reason than for pin notes, if not I will open another bug.

@Xavier: your bug is related in that both are caused by the switch to an AppIndicator, but it's still a different bug.

ppa:tomboy-packagers/stable only has 1.6 for lucid, and nothing for natty :-( is there another ppa to use?

Same problem for me. And the last version in tomboy for natty from ppa 1.6.0 don't fix it.
