Bug Description

Can we disable the display of "Unsafe Device Removal" popup when removing a read-only device? (I have been getting the message while ejecting CDRoms).

Same here - I find it somewhat bizarre to have an error message pop up while simply ejecting a CD or DVD

I was about to file a bug about this and found this one. When ejecting a CDROM, it makes no sense to display an error about unsafe media removal - it wasn't unsafe.

This was reported several months ago - is it possible to know if this is planned on being addressed?

Thanks for your report. Your idea might get more attention and have the possibility of being implemented if you submit a specification for it. First check whether the idea is already registered <https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+specs>, and if so, contact the specification's drafter about your ideas. Otherwise, you can start writing a spec yourself. <https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FeatureSpecifications>
