Bug Description

Even though the NVIDIA sensor list shows the 2nd GPU as GPU1CoreTemp and is enabled, the applet only shows the temp as zero degrees. The temp for GPU0 is reported correctly. The temps for both NVIDIA GPU cards is reported correctly in the GPU Internal field in Thermal Settings in the NVIDIA X Server Settings application. None of the fan power or fan speeds are reported.

None of the sensors bugs seemed to have anything related to this bug, probably because few people run multiple GPU cards in their Linux installations. The bug is only that the temperature for the second card is reported incorrectly.

affects: ubuntu → nvidia-settings (Ubuntu)

I'm seeing this problem too. nvclock and other programs report the temperature of all the GPU's correctly but the sensors applet seems broken.

The sensors applet shows zero degrees for the second GPU.

GPU0CoreTemp is correct while GPU1CoreTemp is always zero.

I briefly looked at the source for this and I think the issue is the use of XNVCTRLQueryTargetAttribute which seems to be broken.

The nvidia-settings application uses NvCtrlGetAttribute directly (ie. it doesn't use the X event mechanism) and it works fine. Not sure what the problem is with XNVCTRLQueryTargetAttribute.
