Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Please drop the "System Settings" link from the session indicator menu. It does not belong to the session indicator menu. I fail to connect system setting with shutdown (the icon of the session indicator). Please don't reinvent an mistake from another software company that put "shutdown" under a "start" menu.

This change was introduces in bug #727823.

Maybe put it in the Me Menu (i.e. the one with your username, next to the session indicator). Links to other settings (Chat, Broadcast, User) are in there, so it might fit better with them.

I agree. It's obtrusive and it was very jarring to have the last entry no longer be power-related. If it were at least at the top of the menu that would be one thing but it doesn't belong on the bottom and I don't feel it belongs in this menu at all.
