Inkscape 0.48.1 is slow to open and unusable with textext

Using 0.48.1 from PPA on Ubuntu Lucid, Inskape is slow to open.
When using textext, there is some time for Inkscape to be usable again AFTER textext windows are closed.
When downgrading to 0.47.0 all is perfectly working.
Then textext is not usable on Inkscape 0.48.1, and using pstoedit is not a solution since you can't modify LaTeX code afterwards. It is very annoying because I need textext.

Any solution ?
