Screensaver does not work intermittently

Occasionally, the screensaver won't kick in. This is a very intermittent problem. It is a potential security threat if you leave your machine expecting screensaver lockup but don't get it and expose sensitive content, like bank/brokerage sites and accounts. The only user app running was Firefox.

Do you happen to have menus open when the screensaver doesn't come up?

No menus are open when screensaver fails to launch.
