I can't use visual effects

Hello everyone,

I use Ubuntu 10.10 x86

When I reboot my computer to Ubuntu. This time I had no visual effects and the shortcuts to move from one workspace to another doesn't work. I check the visual effects and there are set to None.

I set it to Extra but an error occurs "Visual effects could not be activated".

But I don't know from where the error comes, I checked the driver of my graphic card, all is right about that.

Hi, have you had a chance to test if this bug is still present in natty?

If it does (and if you're the original reporter), please boot into natty
and run the command:

  apport-collect <bug-number>
