Bug Description

Following on from another report: bug #734811 ("Unity displaying wrong icon for SDL games"); Openbve does not appear in the Alt-tab listing:

  1. Run 'openbve'
  2. Alt-tab (observe that no Openbve window is shown)

Ideally the Launcher and Alt-tab listing should be coherent in the applications and icons that they show.

Alex: could you expand on what needs-design can it? I think it's just that some windows don't show up in the Launcher/Alt-tab reliably. Eg. bug #734876 ("Re: gnome-terminal is not shown in unity panel") is another variation on the theme that just came in.

Omer, to reproduce:

  sudo apt-get install openbve
  openbve &
Alt-Tab away from the dialogue; then Alt-Tab back to Openbve

What happens:

  1. It is impossibly to use Alt-Tab to get back to the Openbve dialogue
  2. it is possible to use the Unity Launcher (click the anonymous program called just "panel")
  3. There are three-white pips displayed in the Launcher next to "panel"; but only one window shown when clicked.

What should happen:

  1. Ideally Alt-Tab should work and have Openbve listed as the application at the top of the stack
  2. The Unity Launcher should display the icon and Application name
  3. Only one pip should be shown
