Bug Description

Binary package hint: libphonon4

libphononwidgets.so is missing in libphonon4 and doesn't appear available in any other package.
This appears to be not only a problem in Ubuntu, but in every major distribution, maybe it is a Nokia issue instead.
However, since I tend to always revert back to Ubuntu after testing another distributions, I'm reporting this here.
libphononwidgets.so was in the libphonon4 package under Lucid, but has been missing since.
I've seen several issues posted on the web of the missing Phonon widgets in Qt-creator, and also Qt-designer, but no postings as to resolve the problem.
I've tried extracting the missing library from a previous version of libphonon4 and placed it in the correct directory, aka /usr/lib/qt4/plugins/designer and that seems to work, however this still should be included in the libphonon4 package.

I would be very grateful for any kind of resolution to this problem.

Mike Potapoff.

Somehow the library went missing in Kubuntu 10.10 (could have been the changes in Qt vs standalone shipping of phonon), but it is back in libphonon-dev in Kubuntu 11.04.

Changed in phonon (Ubuntu):
