Icons get piled up on Hebrew desktop

Binary package hint: nautilus

I'm using Ubuntu 10.10 with Hebrew locale, and Gnome desktop.
Whenever a new icon is added to the desktop, it's sent to the right-upper corner, on top of previous icons.
I would have expected that it would be put under, or to the left of, the previous icons.

I've just checked it with 11.04, and it has the same problem.

This is a problem with nautilus, Unity doesn't touch the icons on the desktop.
