Gstreamer segm faults at a certain point of an mp3 file

Bug #73373 reported by Lorenzo

gst-fluendo-mp3 (Ubuntu)

Bug Description

That mp3 file is certainly corrupted in some way, but using for instance the xine engine, there isn't such a problem - except a little noise in the point that make gstreamer crash.

* Every software using gstreamer is affected by this problem (rhythmbox, totem, quod libet...)

* Steps to reproduce:
foo@bar:~$ gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location=bad_file.mp3 ! decodebin ! audioconvert ! esdsink

I'll attach the crash report here

EDIT: Note: This bug report may be a duplicate of Bug #45212, but I haven't got enough technical knowledge for saying that.

I'll also attach the log file made by this command:

foo@bar:~$ GST_DEBUG=3,gnl*:5 gst-launch-0.10 filesrc location=Desktop/Track\ 02.mp3 ! decodebin ! audioconvert ! esdsink > ~/Desktop/log 2>&1

I hope it's useful...

NOTE: I'm using libgstreamer0.10-0 version 0.10.10-1ubuntu2 under Ubuntu 6.10

Thank you for your bug. That's a bug of gst-fluendo-mp3, you should probably just use gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly to play mp3, no need of the fluendo plugin. Reassigning the bug

Ok, removing the gst-fluendo-mp3 package it works perfectly. But I really don't know how that package was installed on my machine... is it a default choice?
Also, have I to mark this bug as upstream?

thank you

p.s. Sebastien: uh, my compliments for your first session at UOW ;)

This is most probably fixed by 0.10.4 in latest feisty... please reopen otherwise.
