Bug Description

Start up any Open office app, move the mouse pointer over toolbar icons or menu options and they all disappear apart from the one under the mouse pointer.

This only happerns in open office, no other apps seem affected, and it seems to be a recent problem as I know this was fine a few weeks ago.

I'm using Dapper with all the latest updates.

Same problem: OpenOffice 2.3, Kubuntu 7.10, on an Acer TM2480 laptop: The toolbars and menu bar disappear, and only the item under the cursor becomes visible. Dropdowns go blank as soon as the cursor touches them, then only the item under the cursor appears. This began as an intermittant problem that could be fixed by restarting the application, but is now a permanent "feature" of OpenOffice. The previous versions of OOo seem not to have had this problem.

this looks like a very old thread. sorry if i'm in the wrong place.
anyway, everything was okay with my openoffice apps until i used apt-get to install kubuntu (over ubuntu) today. when i use the kubuntu session, if i open an xls or doc file... the icons and menu texts could not be seen (except the ones the mouse pointer is at, as described above). attaced is a screenshot.
