ibus noise when running any qbzr command from the command line

Bug Description

Running any qbzr command from the command line results in the output like the following:

QInotifyFileSystemWatcherEngine::addPaths: inotify_add_watch failed: No such file or directory
QFileSystemWatcher: failed to add paths: /home/rbrown/.config/ibus/bus
Bus::open: Can not get ibus-daemon's address.
IBusInputContext::createInputContext: no connection to ibus-daemon

Creating directories to and touching the file /home/rbrown/.config/ibus/bus reduces this to just the last two lines, but short of installing and running ibus (which I don't need to do, and as I understand could inconvenience me in other ways), I'm not sure what to do to make the errors go away.

kubuntu 10.10
bzr 2.3.0
qbzr 0.20.0

Thanks.

I'm sure we don't use ibus in our codebase. SO, most likely the problem in your PyQt4/Qt4 installation. Or maybe KDE behavior.

Changed in qbzr:

That said I don't know how to fix this, and I don't use kubuntu/kde. If somebody can help -- please do.

It's not restricted to Kubuntu/KDE. I had the same annoyance on Ubuntu/GNOME, and very grudgingly installed ibus to shut it up.

I found very very similar problem in the bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-qt4/+bug/694541

I don't know how it's related to qbzr though.

Also I found this report on QT forum: http://www.qtforum.org/article/32669/qinotifyfilesystemwatcherengine-addpaths-inotify-add-watch-failed-ibus-daemon.html

As I understand it's entirely internal Qt thing and I don't know how to shut up it from our application.

I'm inclined to close this bug as Invalid for QBzr and can suggest only one workaround: install ibus-daemon
