Since update OpenOffice and Acroread do not work properly

Bug Description

Binary package hint: lvm2

After update to lvm2 ...ubuntu3 on edgy
acroread and openoffice slow down the system until there is no other solutioin than a hard reboot.

Well, I wonder if lvm2 could the described effect or if there is something else at work here.

What software do you use for updating your system? Can you take a look at top and see if acroread and openoffice are using bigger amounts of memory and CPU time than usual?
