custom shortcuts doesn't show up in dashboard

Bug Description

if i edit the menus like clicking on 'edit menus' in the regular gnome, Those apps don't show up in unity. example would be the other day when i downloaded firefox beta from mozilla.com. i created a shortcut in the menus, then when i logged into unity, it didn't show up in the 'dock' or the dashboard.

What method are you using to find the application in the dash? I assume you're searching for the title of the app as it was displayed in the menu? If you log out and log back into a normal gnome session, is the item there in the gnome menu still? Can you also check to make sure there is a .desktop file for it in ~/.local/share/applications?
