Bug Description
Wine1.3 is the beta series for Wine. It exists as a separate, conflicting package from wine1.2, the stable series. It's been living in the Wine PPA for over a year now, and at this point is usually better than Wine 1.2 for random applications.
I'd like to bring a version to ship with Ubuntu so that users can (manually) install it and have some of the benefits of a later Wine without needing to use the PPA.
This will also make life much easier for script such as winetricks and playonlinux, which help install games but generally require a more recent version of Wine than 1.2.
At the same time, I'd also like to bring in winetricks into the main archive. Winetricks is quite similar to playonlinux in some respects, and both projects are moving to use a common backend for installer scripts. Winetricks also has a variety of workarounds for classic Wine problems to avoid manual tinkering, such as registry key changes.
