unity places should install when upgrading from maverick

Bug Description

When doing a distribution upgrade from Maverick, the package unity is installed, but not unity-place-applications and unity-place-files. The desktop is pretty much unusable without these two, and it took me quite some time to figure out what was wrong.

I don't know where I should file this bug. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks for commenting. I updated using 'update-manager -d' and
clicking the button.

Since you say that it is not simply a wrong dependency: here's some
other things that may be related (that I can think of):
 * My internet connection went down during package downloading, but I
could resume afterwards by starting 'update-manager -d' again.
 * I had the maverick-backports repository enabled, and also
kubuntu-backports (for KOffice).
 * I upgraded from lucid before. Lucid was a fresh install.
