Bug Description

This is related to Ubuntu 10.04.2 LTS

After updating Firefox from 3.6.13 to 3.6.14 on 3-Mar-2011 trying to watch any movie on youtube will crash the whole system without warning or crash dump (blank screen, no longer pingable, Reset button is the only way to get it back).

The Flash Plugin is the latest 64Bit Prerelease from Adobe, but the bug can also be reproduced here with nspluginwrapper and the latest 32Bit Plugin.

Updating to Firefox 3.6.15 (3.6.15+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1) did not solve the issue. Before the Firefox update Flash was working fine and the flash plugin was not changed during the update. The system is stable in all other respects.

The X-Server is using the 'radeon' driver on AMD 790G (chipset graphics).

I don't think this is limited to Firefox. It is also reproducible in chrome.

Different but probably related - I'm getting repeated flash plugin crashes in ff 3.6.15 on Ubuntu 10.10 32bit.

I also noticed after a recent update.
uname -a gives
 2.6.35-27-generic #48-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 22 20:25:29 UTC 2011 i686 GNU/Linux
Flash is 10.2.r152

affects: ubuntu → firefox (Ubuntu)
