3c905C-TX/TX-M onboard NIC not working

Bug Description

PC: HP e-Vectra
Distributions: Ubuntu Breezy, Dapper, Edgy
NIC: 3Com 3c905C-TX/TX-M (Tornado)
NIC is identified correctly but will not function.
Slackware installation works ok, but not Ubuntu.
Tried with Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edubuntu.
lsmod shows
  Module: mii Size: 6912 Used by: 3c59x

This is not really a bug as it should work with no prior setup because I believe it is built in to the 2.6 kernel. You may want to file a Support ticket or search around for solutions on Google. I found this which might be of help:

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for the info, it is as I suspected. Could not find it anywhere
myself, perhaps because I was focusing more on drivers and possible
plug-n-play problems
Will try out 3c90xcfg.exe shortly.

Thanks Jeff,

Running 3c90xcfg.exe from DOS works just fine.
Just plug the PC into your network and "Autoconfigure"

I think this utility should be available 'somewhere' as I see a lot of
people looking for the same answer.
Would be nice to see a reference to it whenever a 3c905 NIC is found.
Don't know where to suggest this, or how it might be done.
