Bug Description

Binary package hint: libsword6

Ok, you can get a summary of why this happens at http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=285641&highlight=libsword. and a working package can be obtained at http://packages.debian.org/testing/libs/libsword5c2a. It is not the same version, but it is the only working version found, and GnomeSword in Edgy functions perfectly with it. For the time being, us involved in the Ubuntu Christian Edition project are using the Debian version because of the broken dependency in the Edgy version.

The pkgconfig file (aka /usr/lib/pkgconfig/sword.pc) is corrupted.
This prevents frontends using pkgconfig (GnomeSword) to be built against libsword.

Here is a clucene.diff file with an added patch to fix sword.pc.in

I'm sorry, I missed that Daniel Glassey (Maintainer) had already updated the package in Debian on November, 23.

Please update! We do need tthis fix for building GnomeSword on Ubuntu.

feisty has sword 1.5.9-3. To get gnomesword backported for Edgy (#65451), this must be done first.
