Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I created a SFTP connection to a server in the LAN. When I copy a single file on that server the file will be copied correctly, but the file transfer dialog stay open, totally stalled, showing 0%. Simultaniously a nautilus process produces 100% load on one of the CPUs. The nautilus window stays usable, but the SFTP connection doesn't work anymore. That doesn't change when I close the file transfer dialog. When I kill the nautilus process, everything works fine. I can reconnect to the SFTP, the file I tried to copy is on the server. I can browse the folders on the server, I can create new folders, I can copy all files and folders from the server, I can even create new empty files on the server (all actions using nautilus). Just copying a file to the server breaks it.

I used command line ftp and sftp on 11.04 server edition (was the same with ver 10 then i upgraded it to 11.04). Tried to download from remote server. After some time of downloading system hangs. In sftp case it takes ~100% of CPU, in ftp case ~1%, but it hangs. Same behaviour with wget and some other programs, which works with internet for longer time. Logs says, that "service blocked for more than 120sec.". Cannot kill the process, cannot reboot, cannot do anything. just can reboot from Windows server, under which it is installed. This is production server.
System configuration:
- DELL server;
- boot disk on IDE
- data disk on SAN SCSI
- works as virtual machine under Windows server

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. However, your crash report is either missing or challenging to deal with as a ".crash" file. Please follow these instructions to have apport report a new bug about your crash that can be dealt with by the automatic retracer.

If you are running the Ubuntu Stable Release you might need to enable apport in /etc/default/apport and restart.

Now open your file manager, navigate to your /var/crash directory and open the crash report you wish to submit.
If this fails you will have to open a terminal and file your report with 'ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash' where _my_crash_report.crash is the crash you would like to report. If you get an error that you aren't allowed to access this report you will have to file it with 'sudo ubuntu-bug /var/crash/_my_crash_report.crash'.

I'm closing this bug report since the process outlined above will automatically open a new bug report which can then dealt with more efficiently. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
