Nedit bug attributed to lesstif

This bug was originally reported to be a nedit bug:

However, people seem to have decided that it's a lesstif bug, but no one's bothered to tell the lesstif people. So here I go.

Note: I tried to give "lesstif" as a package hint, and the "Choose..." thing tells me that lesstif is a valid name, but it's not accepted when I select it or type it in. Please assign this bug to lesstif.

Is lesstiff1-1 the right one or should it be lesstiff2

Part of a message from the NEdit list:

that KDE's clipboard manager (Klipper) is monopolizing the clipboard,

In our current CVS version we take some countermeasures, but it is not
known whether they have any effect as the problem is not easily
reproducable.

Looks like there could be a compatibility problem between Lesstif and Klipper.

Has anyone pushed this upstream to KDE, Nedit, and Lesstif folks? This bug has been outstanding for a LONG time, and it's really a nuisance!

Thanks for your report. This shouldn't be an issue anymore because lesstif support has been dropped in favor of motif in version 5.5-2

  * Merge from debian unstable.
  * debian/control: Replaced lesstif2 with libmotif-dev, because with ubuntus
    new lesstif2 version nedit doesn't work

Just to let you know, i solved the problem by following steps:

Buliding nedit from source, using libmotifdev:

- Download the latest snapshot of nedit from http://www.nedit.org/
- apt-get install libmotif-dev
- tar -xpvzf nedit-snapshot.tar.gz
- cd nedit/
- make linux

Now i have version:

5.6 [Under Development] HEAD
