Bug Description
Since upgrade to edgy 6.10 the new boot-routine do not accept hand typed passkey for cryptdisks.
When asked for passkey it types the passkey in cleartext to the screen and reports "Command failed: Key reading error" after enter. After that it asks again for the passkey. This time the passkey is not written to the screen but after enter message "Command failed: Key reading error" appears again.
Mount's in /etc/crypttab are not mounted.
After boot up, typing "sudo /etc/init.

No idea what package you are using, but the kernel has no control over userspace utilities working like this (it's not the kernel that asks for the password).
