Bug Description

Binary package hint: samba

The documentation in the Samba package states that it works correctly with CTDB. The man page explains the options for use with CTDB, and they are accepted by the Samba demon. However, Samba in Ubuntu is built without CTDB support.

There are two possible fixes to this:
 - fix the documentation
 - include CTDB in Main and build Samba with CTDB support

CTDB-enabled Samba packages, with appropriate changes to upstart scripts, are available in my PPA: https://launchpad.net/~danser/+archive/samba-cluster

Hi,

How do Ubuntu Server sysadmins do to use the mainstream Ubuntu package system to obtain a cluster-enabled Samba with CTDB?
This bug (and my experiments) prove there's no way (except using Dan's work).

I don't understand why this bug has low importance?
