Bug Description

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

After latest upgrade, g-p-m no longer knows when I'm plugged in or not, so it does not change power management configs from A/C to battery...and doesn't suspend on laptop lid close. I also have 2 batteries in my laptop, and now only one is showing up in the indicator applet preferences:

robbiew@robbiew-laptop:/proc$ sudo find . | grep BAT
[sudo] password for robbiew:
./acpi/battery/BAT1
./acpi/battery/BAT1/alarm
./acpi/battery/BAT1/state
./acpi/battery/BAT1/info
./acpi/battery/BAT0
./acpi/battery/BAT0/alarm
./acpi/battery/BAT0/state
./acpi/battery/BAT0/info
robbiew@robbiew-laptop:/proc$

Appears to only occur when using the unity-based desktop, if I switch over to Classic Desktop (no effects), I see both batteries and my power preferences are followed.

It sounds to me like there are two separate issues here.
1) gnome-power-manager doesn't know if your system is plugged in
2) only one battery applet appears in Unity but two show up in the classic desktop

The former sounds like a kernel bug as looking at your DevkitPower.txt log file I see the following:

/sys/devices/LNXSYSTM:00/device:00/PNP0A08:00/device:01/PNP0C09:00/ACPI0003:00/power_supply/AC

and line-power online appears to be no. The latter sounds like a unity bug and should probably be a separate report.
