Bug Description
Binary package hint: paw
PAW fails to open the default X11 display window when run in a default terminal. However, if run via SSH terminal "ssh -X localhost" and then run PAW successfully opens the display.
Example:
[Open a default terminal session]
>ssh -X localhost
>PAW
*** Successfully opens the PAW X11 graphics window
[Open a second default terminal session]
>PAW
*** Fails outputting the following error messages:
Workstation type (?=HELP) <CR>=1 :
Version 1.29/04 of HIGZ started
***** ERROR in IOPWK : Can't open DISPLAY
***** ERROR in IACWK : Workstation is not open
***** ERROR in ISWKWN : Invalid workstation window parameters
***** ERROR in ISWKVP : Invalid workstation window parameters
And in addition the following error message appears in the first terminal session:
"X11 connection rejected because of wrong authentication."
I assume there is some hard coded X authentication values in the PAW source that is failing to obtain the correct authentication information. This has been affecting recent Ubuntu releases. I believe since 10.04.
