I can confirm the same behavior. I am using a Dell Inspiron 6000 with touch pad.

I have the same problem. When I press `Switch User' in the `System --> Quit' dialog, the mouse pointer is found frozen in the center of the GDM screen, and remains there even after I log in as another user. Switching to the first user with `CTRL+ALT+F_' and back makes the mouse work again. I have a Logitech RX300 mouse and the following in xorg.conf:

Section "InputDevice"
        Identifier "Configured Mouse"
Option "Name" "Logitech USB-PS/2 Optical Mouse"
        Driver "evdev"
        Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"
        Option "Buttons" "7"
        Option "ZAxisMapping" "6 7"
EndSection

I can confirm this problem!

I have a synaptic touchpad with the feisty standard xorg.conf (nvidia enabled).

Very annoying.

By the way, I would find it nice, if in Feisty+1 I could have the login screen for another user on a side of the desktop cube. I find this Alt+Ctrl+F* very annoying and not really worthy to be named FAST user switching, as it keeps my screen black for just too long. This is not a bug, but the normal behavior ever since!

I believe X should somehow be started just once as user xorg. All other sessions access this instance. Whatever happens currently when you do Ctrl+Alt+F* seems to be the wrong thing, as it does not provide a seamless user experience and should therefore be abandoned some time soon. User session switching should be as smooth as switching my workspace with the workspace applet!

I've solved this problem in my Feisty Fawn by replacing `Option "SendCoreEvents" "true"' with "Option `"CorePointer"' in the mouse-related InputDevice section of /etc/X11/xorg.conf.

Also in feisty i had the same problem with my synaptics
it was not working for second user wants to login. (with switch user)
i solved with adding

on Section "ServerLayout"
on line InputDevice "Synaptics Touchpad"
i added "SendCoreEvents"

now it is like
        InputDevice "Synaptics Touchpad" "SendCoreEvents"
and works.
