update-manager crashed with TypeError in _get_last_apt_get_update_text(): unsupported operand type(s) for /: 'NoneType' and 'int'

I installed Natty Alpha 2, ran update manager. After successfully completing a "partial update", I rebooted the system and attempted to run update manager again, when it crashed. Now it crashes every time.
