Bug Description
Binary package hint: software-center
tried to install add-ons:
gimp-plugin-
gimp- data-extras
simply says (In Progress) and hours go by, with no resolution. By opening all processes in the system monitor, there is an uninterruptible dpkg process:
from the terminal :~$ ps aux | grep dpkg
root 18703 0.0 1.5 34548 31036 pts/1 Ds+ 14:24 0:01 /usr/bin/dpkg --status-fd 17 --unpack --auto-deconfigure /var/cache/
cannot find a way to kill this process.
As soon as the software-center reopens, it is in the same state of halfway-installed.
