Bug Description
Binary package hint: firefox-3.0
http://
In Firefox, Preferences > Content > Fonts & Colors > Advanced is set so pages can NOT choose their own fonts.
Default fonts are set to FreeSans/Serif/Mono in Preferences > Content > Fonts & Colors > Advanced, while the main default font is set to FreeSans
FreeSans and FreeSerif include the Japanese syllabaries Hiragana and Katakana, but not Japanese ideograms.
My preferred language set in Preferences > Content is English/Canada [en-ca]
English language text on this page displays in (I suspect) Kochi Gothic or Kochi Mincho, which are intended for Japanese language support and have really ugly characters in the Basic Latin Unicode block. Common sense says that given the various settings in Firefox, it should display in FreeSans/
View > Page source also uses the same horrible font, but if I view page source in another tab, it's okay.
Ubuntu version is 8.04 LTS, brought up to date just a few days ago.
