Bug Description

The pages on the site have no meta tag for description and keywords.

Search engines and link-sharing sites use these keyword to provide description for the links to the website. Without these tags, the content of the page is usually used. in our case, the content starts with the login instructions. This lead to unfortunate results.

I don't know who can edit the website, that's why I sent this to the list:

There is something wrong with the share-button at the website,
when I want to share ubuntu-be.org at facebook I see this:
http://voorforums.leerubuntu.org/ubuntube_facebook.png
(I didn't add it as attachment because I don't know if attachments are allowed / get approved on a regular base.)
I think it's better to have a text about ubuntu-be there, if it is possible to change that.

I just found that it can be resolved by putting <meta name="description" content="Facebook uses this for text!" /> in de source.
I'm not sure if it's possible to let the content description be filled in automatically on Drupal though.
I found the answer on this question on: http://www.left-click.us/blog/addthis-button-how-make-facebook-show-correct-image-and-text-blog-post

I'm not sure if there is any webeditor who can change this so my guess is that this will be something for Pierre.

I'm still having the same problem.
Looking at the source-code still doesn't show a meta description.

It must be a (solved) cache issue.I've just check on another computer and unauthenticated:
<meta content="Ubuntu-be is the Belgian &quot;LoCo Team&quot;, whose goal is the promotion of Ubuntu in Belgium. Our tasks are mainly informational and representational, for support we forward users to the documentation and help networks relative to their language." name="description">

I looked at it again and the description is in place now. Nevertheless Facebook keeps stating the wrong description (the text about the launchpad login).

Which is strange as FB should use this text. Maybe it's a caching issue on FB's server.. it might resolve itself?

I'm seeing the following meta data:
<meta name="description" content="Ubuntu-be is the Belgian &quot;LoCo Team&quot;, whose goal is the promotion of Ubuntu in Belgium. Our tasks are mainly informational and representational, for support we forward users to the documentation and help networks relative to their language." />

http://drupal.org/node/425352 tells this about facebook description:
Please make sure that none of the content fields contain any html markup because it will be stripped out. For consistency's sake, please use the tag to provide text data for the preview, and the tag for any source urls.

so maybe the &quot; is the reason it's not working here..

Having " in the content of the meta tag is indeed wrong and I fixed it. But chances are that FB is doing some caching too. So it may takes some time to catch the updated page.
