I cannot install MySQL server for some reason!

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.

It looks like there was a problem during the configuration step of the installation.

Please can you try running:

    dpkg-reconfigure mysql-server-5.1

Hopefully this should re-configure the root password for mysql-server and restart the service.

Please update this bug if this resolved your issue.
