Bug Description

Fsck checks hard disk on battery after x mounts in edgy. In dapper fsck on battery was disable except if there was a real error but not after x mounts.
Since it can't be canceled it is a very annoying bug.

Ok same problem here, but, this is not a sysvinit bug is a upstart one. Edgy uses upstart not sysvinit.

can someone re-assigned to upstart?

This bug still exists in Feisty.

Are there any plans to fix this in Gutsy? Laptop hard disks get bigger and bigger so a lot of time and battery power gets wasted and it worked already fine in Dapper.

I'd just like to "me-too" this bug - this is a BIG problem, which I can confirm on a desktop amd64 feisty install. I'm very disappointed this problem existed in both feisty and edgy - I'd hate to see it in gutsy too!

1. The package "sysvinit" is right:
/etc/init.d/checkfs.sh (which seems to be the script in question) is in package "initscripts" and this comes from the "sysvinit" source package.

2. It seems to check, if it's on battery, using "on_ac_power". Looking at the script, to see if you can find a hint why it fails, might help.
I cannot test anything, because I have no laptop.
