Netspeed says my interface is down, even though it's up

Bug Description

Since I started using gnome's network manager, netspeed shows all my network interfaces as being disabled, even after I choose the network I want to use (with network manage) and log into it.

For instance, now I get the following from ifconfig:
eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:18:DE:74:1D:AF
          inet addr:10.133.253.246 Bcast:10.133.255.255 Mask:255.255.0.0
          inet6 addr: fe80::218:deff:fe74:1daf/64 Scope:Link

But netspeed keeps saying that "eth1 is down".

This just happened to me. Netspeed thinks eth1 is down. ifconfig shows it is up, has an IP address, there's a default route going out through eth1, and my Internet works just fine.

I do not recall this ever happening before. I do use network-manager.

I'm still experiencing this every once in a while. I forgot I had closed this bug.

Is this an issue even selecting the "Always monitor a connected device, if possible" on the preferences dialog? thanks.

It was, but now I can't reproduce this anymore.
