Hi all,

Is there a chance to see X509 support for openssh released in the next version ?

This patch needs to be accepted upstream first. It's not the sort of
thing I would take as a distribution-specific patch.

Marking Won't Fix because I'm not going to fix it in Ubuntu, although if
it were accepted upstream I'd obviously be happy to include it.

What can I do to advice people upstream that it would be a need for companies ? for ubuntu-server basically. Is there a way to package it as as an optional extention of openssh for exemple ?

I imagine that the upstream developers will be a lot more interested in
whether it's technically a good idea and maintainable, than whether
companies need it - that's the usual pattern.

You could build your own openssh packages with that patch applied,
perhaps in a PPA.
