I can NOT reproduce this in feisty with xdrawchem 1.9.9-1ubuntu1. I can start it in GNOME and use the text tool (the icon with "T") to write text just fine.

I am not saying the bug doesn't exist, though. It may just need a more special situation to be triggered. The patch looks pretty simple and nice, too.

But ville you forgot to set your full name and email in your second debdiff (your first debdiff got it right).

Ok, here's a debdiff with email address.

I can NOT reproduce this on feisty. I also used the T icon and wrote just fine. Can this be an issue with a lib that edgy's version is lacking or causing the crash? edgys version is same version as feisty's version so it makes me think that a lib is causing it other than the app itself.

Thank you for your work on this bug. My apologies for the delay in review. As commented below, it appears that it is not a bug in feisty, and so the latest debdiff does not apply. I have therefore unsubscribed ubuntu-universe-sponsors. If you feel that this bug should be fixed in Edgy, please consider reviewing https://wiki.ubuntu.com/MOTU/SRU and preparing a debdiff for edgy-proposed.
