Where did you get this version from? It does not exit in Ubuntu.

As for the bug, I think it was fixed for 4.7.4, so either build from source or use version from my PPA and wait until 4.7.5.1 will be uploaded (it will be ready when it's ready).

This is on the Mac (10.6). MC 4.7.1 came as a Rudix package, that's the latest version available. Fink also have MC, but it is even older version.

What I can't understand then is why you are reporting this against stock Ubuntu package and not against Rudix or Fink???

I will mark this bug as invalid, because it is not present in the Ubuntu version and apparently it is already fixed in 4.7.5.1 that is going to be uploaded.

Changed in mc (Ubuntu):
status: New → Invalid

One of the issues I had, in particular, using external editor on a remote system was reported here, so I decided to report the current issue here as well. Anyway, I just reported this issue in the Rudix project bug system. Hopefully, they will update mc.

This is the most practical solution for now, because the bug is already fixed upstream and we can't be of any help for you.
