Bug Description

After yesterday's update of bzr to 2.3.1 on my Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic), the xmloutput plugin can no longer be loaded, here is the message I get on every bzr command:

    cannot import name _escape_cdata
Unable to load plugin 'xmloutput' from '/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/bzrlib/plugins'

... and indeed xmloutput.__init__.py contains a " from bzrlib.xml_serializer import _escape_cdata", but there is no _escape_data in my bzrlib.xml_serializer

My versions (Ubuntu packages):
- bzr 2.3.0-1~bazaar1~karmic1
- bzr-xmloutput 0.8.3+bzr123-1

That doesn't prevent me to use bzr from the command line, but I can't use bzr on Eclipse.

The latest update (on Feb 13) of bzr-xmloutput to 0.8.6+bzr147-1~bazaar1~karmic1 fixed the problem for me.

Although you closed this as "Fix released", the latest source release 0.8.6 does *not* work with bzr 2.3.0.
Which patch needs to be applied to make bzr-xmloutput compatible with bzr 2.3.0?

yeah. bzr-xmloutput-0.8.6 can't work with bzr 2.3.0 correctly. Any ideas

You'r right, the fix wasn't properly "Released" probably it's available in the bzr ppa and windows installer.

Is there any estimate when this fix will be available from the 10.04 repository?
