Bug Description
Binary package hint: totem
Totem is completely unable to play media from a samba share over gnome-vfs. Other transport methods via gnome-vfs, such as ssh, work fine and this used to work fine in dapper.
This affects both totem-gstreamer and totem-xine. Totem-gstreamer pops up an error dialog when you try to play saying 'Unable to read from resource', where as totem-xine seems to read the video properties (visible in the properties side-pane), but refuses to start playing.
Mounting the samba shares with smbfs and playing like that works fine, as would be expected.
