aptdaemon programming error

Binary package hint: software-center

I use Ubuntu versions 10.10 and Ubuntu Software Center 3.0.7.
I can not install programs on the software center. The message reads: aptdaemon programming error. I am new to the ubuntu community and do not know how to solve the problem. The problem arises after you uninstall the antivirus ClamAV from the Synaptic package manager. I sought help in the community forum but I found no helped me fix it.
My expectation is to install new programs from the software center
