thank you for your bug report, could you add the .xsession-errors log to the bug when you get the issue?

This also happens to me, since the last set of automatic updates (some of which I believe were gnome-related). I've attached my .xsession-errors, which includes the following error:

Starting gtk-window-decorator
I/O warning : failed to load external entity "/home/matt/.compiz/session/10de87f9c1a829013c129690152332863400000018210029"

** (nm-applet:1895): DEBUG: foo_client_state_changed_cb
** Message: applet now embedded in the notification area
The program 'gnome-settings-daemon' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 1228 error_code 8 request_code 3 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I'm running 10.10 on a Toshiba Tecra M10 (Intel graphics)

instead of logging out and back you can also go to System>Preferences>Appearance and the theme will reset back to normal automatically. to return the nautilus theme open the terminal and type:
'ps x -e | grep nautilus'
and then 'kill -9' plus the process number.
getting tired of having to do this every time. thinking of reverting back to 10.04

I also have this problem. Is there any script i can set to run automatically at start to circumvent this bug? It's annoying to log out and in everytime after booting my netbook.
