Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity

As of this week's updates, when I login to Ubuntu's Unity desktop, I cannot see the indicator applets. The upper right side of my screen is the same blank gray color as the middle. Nor does clicking on that side do any good.

However, I found out that I am able to use the keyboard to see the indicator menus. I use the File menu from another app (like Terminal) and just click the left or right arrow keys until I am able to see the system indicator menus. So I can get to the calendar but I'm still not seeing the clock for instance.

The indicators do show if I instead run the Ubuntu Classic Desktop, even with Compiz Desktop Effects working.

Seb, the bug you linked to says it is related to Evolution but I just use webmail so I'm not sure if it's the same issue.

I cleared .gconf or .config/compiz-1 or something and now the indicators are working again. I've had to do that on multiple occasions after a unity update.
