Bug Description

When using ubuntu's indicator appmenu (panel menubar applet ), the bookmark and tools menus dont show up, but curiously after going to a few websites the Dummy menu shows up.

I filed this with ubuntu also (bug 614964).

Maybe there needs to be some communication between the appmenu developers and midori developers, to see who is responsible for the bug.

I can confirm this bug, although it behaves a bit diffirent to me. I only miss the Bookmarks menu, all the others are there. I have tried to switch language system wide, and get the same results in both Swedish and English.

I'm using Midori 0.2.7 on Ubuntu 10.04. In the ubuntu standard version of midori (0.2.something) I did not have this issue, it appeared when I upgraded to 0.2.7.

Any ideas on whats causing this?

I'm getting the same thing. Why is this still unconfirmed?

Wadelius, above, said he only miss the Bookmarks menu, but there was no such menu in midori 0.2.7, so he didn't actually miss anything.

If that was the result Wadelius got, he probably wasn't using ubuntu indicator-appmenu, there is another project, that also puts the menubar in the Panel, gnome2-globalmenu. It is possible that he got those projects confused.

Everyone I know of, using appmenu got: "File Edit View Go Help", regardless of what version of Midori they were running. Codly Russell, one of the appmenu developers, confirmed he got the same results as I did, and most likely he was using 0.2.24, which was the default in the official ubuntu repository.

Is the problem the same in Midori 0.2.9? There was a small change related to menu visibility which may have affected this issue. Unfortunately I'm unable to verify because indicators are broken on Archlinux at the moment (they are only provided through inofficial packages).

The menus are still missing in 0.2.9. It would probably be easier to debug this working in ubuntu, perhaps you it could load it in a spare partition, or VM

Confirmed using latest git version of Midori (also with 0.2.9), Ubuntu 10.10 and Appmenu 0.4.6

I think that, now, with Ubuntu 11.04 and Unity, this bug should have a major priority upon other bugs. Don't you?
