Bug Description

I upgraded my ASUS 1001P with the latest available updates for remix 10.10 (around Jan 28, 2011). The system starts and displays the login screen. After providing a userID and PASSWD the system tries to start up. It suddenly stops showing only the wallpaper. At the same time the mouse, input pad and key board are disabled. Also the power on/off key does not work which means that the only way to stop the system is removing the battery.

Starting up in recovery mode gives a concole without window manger. No borders around the nor a way to resize it.

I made a new start up disk (UBS) and reloaded a fresh copy. Everything works fine. After doing an upgrade via apt-get update and than apt-get upgrade the system must be rebooted and once that is done the system hangs.

The problem is caused by the kernel upgrade to 2.6.35-25. Booting from a previous kernel still works.
