Bug Description

Binary package hint: usb-modeswitch-data

The usb-modeswitch rules for Samsung GT-B3730 LTE USB modem needs to be expanded with the attached patch from Mandriva also found here:

http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/usb_modeswitch-data/current/SOURCES/usb-modeswitch-data-samsung-gtb3730.patch?view=markup&pathrev=606878

With that I can successfully send AT commands to the modem.

I'm wondering if using this as-is wouldn't actually cause a race-condition, if the device reacts to the message by appearing and disappearing; this would trigger Udev to re-run switching...

It works for me. The author of usb-modeswitch has also verified the rules and is going to include it into the next version.

Forget this. It will be done by the modem driver instead.

This is done by the driver I am developing here: https://github.com/mkotsbak/Samsung-GT-B3730-linux-driver
