The usb-modeswitch rules for Samsung GT-B3730 LTE USB modem needs to be expanded with the attached patch from Mandriva also found here:
With that I can successfully send AT commands to the modem.

I'm wondering if using this as-is wouldn't actually cause a race-condition, if the device reacts to the message by appearing and disappearing; this would trigger Udev to re-run switching...
